This song acts as a more detailed explanation of the story of The Child, a summary of everything seen so far. Fulfilling the rule of the two factors that create a catastrophic third.
Speaking more about my life — specifically my childhood — not everything was bad. At some point, despite always having been a very uneasy child, I actually lived with calm and stability. And well, the two factors in my life that ended up destroying that notion — mainly — were
my parents’ marriage with their conflicts and financial difficulties.
What began as a narrative matter for the album, somehow ended up becoming a statement about myself. I didn’t feel that I liked living. I couldn’t find a reason that would attach me.
The reason for this lyrical fragment is the important mention of Symphony X, and because this song shares narrative functions with Evolution; even the title itself bears a resemblance.
It is the beginning, the development of The Child.
